The governorship candidate of Labour Party in Ekiti State, Mr Opeyemi Bamidele, pledged to spend single tenure in the office, if elected on June 21, 2014.
The candidate announced this while briefing the newsmen in Iyin-Ekiti on March 26, 2014, Wednesday.
He also promised to conduct local government election within his first six months in office, and that he would give financial autonomy to local governments during his single-term tenure.
Bamidele said his decision, if supported by the voters, would help to restore stability to the already tensed political arena in the state.
"For Ekiti to be united, there is need for the political class to realign forces and make sacrifices,"he said.
It would be noted that Bamidele is currently a member of the House of Representatives.
