According to report, the accused on December 1 went for preaching and deliverance in Asankra-Saa and on December 3, the victim and her colleague Rita Adofo were walking by when the pastor called and told them that Adofo will not liveto celebrate the Christmas festivity and Arthur will also not have safe delivery.
He then invited the two of them to his house for special prayers and deliverance.
The two ladies went to his house for the deliverance and he asked them separately to buy a bottle of voltic water.
Arthur claimed that after praying over the bottle of water, he put a medicine in it and asked her to drink it and use the remaining to take her bath. He then asked her to offer some money as thanksgiving but she had no money on her. So she went home and returned with 20 Ghana cedis for the offertory. When she returned to the house, the pastor lured her into his room and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.
The victim was said to have reported the incident to her colleague Adofo and a report was made to the police after which the victim was issued with a medical report form.
According to the prosecutor, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Albert A. Adiita, when the convict was arrested he denied the offence in his statement but the victim who testified in sign language in court said Osei Tutu raped her.
Philip Osei Tutu pleaded not guilty.
After investigation, he was charged with the offence and sentenced to 20-years imprisonment.
