A picture has just been released of the moment the actress said yes to Miami Heat basketball player Dwyane Wade's proposal on Saturday and shows her embracing her new fiancé while he is still on bended knee.
The sweet snap also offers a glimpse of Gabrielle's impressive ring, a diamond set on a platinum band which cost almost one million dollars.
The cute picture shows Union dressed in a white skirt and grey and black vest top holding Dwayane's head in her hands.
The basketball player proposed with an 8.5 carat cushion cut diamond ring by jewellery store Jason of Beverly Hills.
And apparently Dwayne took his time in finding the perfect stone for the ring - sending his jeweller to Miami in search of the right gem, and on the third trip he found the enormous diamond which he set in a platinum band.
The couple began dating in 2009 and, despite their obvious affection for one another, broke up briefly earlier this year.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show, Dwyane told Jay Leno: 'For us this was a big year for our relationship from the standpoint she was shooting her show, Being Mary Jane, and gone most of the year.
'I was dealing with my injuries, trying to win a championship. So we kind of took a step back.
'At the end of the day, we came back together and said we want to continue this and we want to get better each day.
