Twerking world record set in New York

NEW YORK, Sept. 26 (UPI) --Guinness World Records confirmed a group of 358 people gathered to dance provocatively in New York's Herald Square set a record for twerking.
The record-keeping organization said the "twerk-a-thon," organized by New Orleans bounce music artist Big Freedia, set a world record for most people performing the dance at once by surpassing the 250 mark, the New York Daily News reported Thursday.
Charlie Weisman, a Guinness adjudicator, and event sponsor FUSE-TV worked with the crowd to make sure the participants were twerking with "proper technique."
Among the participants was actress Joan Wind, 73. The senior citizen said she spotted the event while shopping nearby.
"It was great. I think today for the two minutes I lost a few pounds," she said after performing the dance.
