College student charged with 'sextortion' of at least 7 women

A California computer science major was charged Thursday with hacking the webcams of young women and then blackmailing them.
Jared James Abrahams' alleged victims included Miss Teen USA Cassidy Wolf, the Los Angeles Times reported. Wolf went public about the "sextortion."
Abrahams, a 19-year-old college freshman from Temecula, Calif., admitted his actions in interviews with the FBI, a complaint and affidavit filed Thursday said.
Court documents said the investigation began in March when Wolf, then Miss California Teen USA, reported she was being targeted. Abrahams allegedly victimized other young women as far afield as Ireland and Moldova.
His home was raided in June.
Abrahams allegedly threatened to post nude photos of the women online unless they performed for him on Skype.
Investigators said the Irish victim told him she was only 17, adding "have a heart."
Abrahams' alleged response was quoted in court documents: "I'll tell you this right now! I do NOT have a heart. However, I do stick to my deals. Also age doesn't mean a thing to me!!!"
