Did Kim Kardashian and Kanye West FAKE their TV engagement? Reality star seen wearing ring in KUWTK episode before extravagant proposal

It was one of the most romantic proposals the showbiz world has ever seen, with Kanye West hiring out the San Francisco Giants' baseball stadium and filling it with Kim Kardashian's family and friends before popping the question to his long-term love.

But it has now been claimed that the pair may have faked their extravagant engagement for Kim and her family's E! reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Although the long-awaited proposal scene only hit screens in the US on Sunday February 17, eagle-eyed viewers spotted Kim, 33, wearing her glittering Lorraine Schwartz 15-carat diamond ring in the previous week's episode - 'A Surprise Engagement Pt. 1' - which aired on Sunday February 9.

Radar Onlinepoints out that Kim was seen wearing the dazzling band in a scene that showed her putting away clothes for the couple's baby daughter, North 'Nori' West, while her sisters Kourtney and Khloe talk about her behind her back.

This is despite the engagement allegedly happening a whole week later.

While this could simply be a case of an unfortunate mishap in the editing suite, it wouldn't be the first time Keeping Up With The Kardashians bosses have duped their viewers for the sake of the E! fly-on-the-wall show.

Producer Russell Jay was previously forced to testify under oath last year in a 165-page deposition that at least two scenes were 'scripted, re-shot or edited' to make Kris Humphries look like the villain after Kim decided she wanted a divorce from the basketball star back in 2011.

A representative for Kim Kardashian denied the claims to MailOnline.

This comes amid falling viewing figures of late, with recent shows averaging around 2.4million - half a million fewer viewers than weekly episodes during peak seasons.

But in spite of the somewhat lacklustre ratings, the E! series has reportedly been renewed for a further three seasons in a deal worth an alleged $40million.

Fans were finally able to see the moment the rapper asked Kim to be his wife in all of its extravagant glory onKeeping Up With The Kardashians last Sunday.

With roman candles burning, a 50-piece orchestra playing and their family and friends hiding in the dugouts of the San Francisco Giants' baseball stadium, the rapper told Kim: 'I just want to know.'

As Kanye, 36, got down on one knee, Kim put her hands to her face in shock, and her sisters Khloe and Kendall Jenner gasped from their hiding place.

'You want to know what?' Kim asked coyly. 'If you'll marry me,' Kanye responded, grinning from ear to ear.

After Kim whispered 'of course,' Kanye handed over a box containing a 15-carat diamond ring made by celebrity jeweller Lorraine Schwartz.
