Here’s the Kendrick Lamar Verse That Broke the Internet

A lot of people have been really impressed with Kendrick Lamar lately. But none as much as Kendrick Lamar himself.

In the new, unreleased Big Sean track "Control (HOF)," the L.A. rapper talks about how great he is, which, for hip-hop, isn't all that shocking. But then he takes it a step further, informing MC counterparts that he is "tryna murder" them. Included on the blast list are the likes of A$AP Rocky, Tyler The Creator, Drake, Pusha T, Meek Mill, Wale and—oddly, since they're featured on the cut, too—Big Sean and Jay Electron.
Lamar pits Jay Z, Nas, Eminem and André 3000 with him on this fictionalized tier of awesomeness, but neglects to mention other big names like Diddy and Kanye West altogether—probably for the best.
Here's the whole verse:
I heard the barbershops be in great debates all the time:
"Who's the best MC?" Kendrick, Jigga and Nas,
Eminem, Andre 3000—the rest of y'all
New niggas just new n*ggas; don't get involved.
And I ain't rockin no more designer sh*t;
White Ts and Nike Cortez, this is red Corvettes anonymous
I'm usually homeboys with the same n*ggas I'm rhyming with,
But this is hip hop and them niggas should know what time it is.
And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale
Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake
Big Sean, Jay Electron, Tyler, Mac Miller:
I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you n*ggas,
Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you n*ggas,
They don't wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you n*ggas.
As a result, "Kendrick" was a trending topic on Twitter Monday night as fans weighed in with reactions.
