Still on ASUU strike( the oppinion of a suffering student ) you need to read this !

As the over two month old strike goes on, students of the universities affected who have been rendered idle have been hoping for quick resolution of the saga have been hit with disappointment every Monday evening since ASUU started its weekly negotiations the Federal government as " the meeting has ended in deadlock " has become the music that we students have become accustomed to.
It seems like the federal government are keen on playing the same card that was played during the fuel subsidy saga using the same excuse about the fiscal restraint that the implementation of the 2009 agreement would bring upon the country s budget.
In this part of the world where the Goverment see its citizens as been at its mercy and grace, it is not surprising to note that the country s First lady just held an irrelevant and excessive Peace Rally that adds nothing significant except more money to the attendants purses in Abuja. This Peace Rally that was attended by Nollywood stars and had performances by popular Nigerian artistes like Kcee, Iyanya, Onyeka Onwenu and Danja is said to have shut down the capital city as all the roads leading to the Eagles Square venue of the event were gridlocked and filled with gun toting stern lokking men. This was after the goverment released 3 billion naira bail out fund without much haggling to the entertainment industry but finds it difficult to pay attention to the far more important education sector. Several other Peace rallies like this has been held by The Lady of the rock Patience Jonathan in different cities of the country with large sums of the country s tight budget been spent on them.
The nations laymakers are reputed to be the highest paid in the world despite average or poor performance. The 10 plane size of the presidential fleet allegedly gulps 9.08 billion naira to maintain annually.
This government has never found it difficult to spend money on unnecessary fronts but finds it difficult to honour an agreement which it itself agreed to due to seeming budget restraints.
This government has shown this disgruntling attitude towards the most important matters sinces its inception. If the goverment says that it doesn't have the money to honour its agreement to ASUU, it shouldn't find it difficult to cut down on its excessive lifestyle and spending to source for more funds.
If this goverment truly has the interest of the students at heart it should know that we won't fall for the gimmicks of that past. It should find a way or another to honour its agreement with ASUU so that we suffering students can go back to school.
