Barely two months
after the record sale of a vintage Mercedes-Benz racecar, a 1967 Ferrari
275 GTB/4*S NART Spider garnered a winning bid of $25m, with a final
price after seller’s commission of $27.5m – a record for a Ferrari sold
at public auction.
The sale was made on 17 August at Ontario-based RM Auctions’ event, held in conjunction with the Pebble Beach Concours d’ÉlĂ©gance, near Monterey, California.
The convertible, one of just 10 built, was featured in the 1968 Steve McQueen film The Thomas Crown Affair.
