APC Attacks Wike Over Amaechi’s Alleged Return To PDP

The All Progressives Congress, APC has debunked claims by the Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike that Gov. Amaechi of Rivers state and his supporters were planning a return to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
In a statement by the Rivers State Chapter of the APC, signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Interim State Chairman of the APC, Chief Chukwuemeka Eze, the party described the claim as ridiculous., adding that Wike's statement was intended to boost the morale of his depleting supporters.
The party also dismissed claims by the minister that the party was afraid of the PDP which they described as a sinking ship.
Mr Wike had on Saturday said that Amaechi and his supporters were planning to return to the PDP through the backdoor.
The statement by the APC on Tuesday however indicated that Amaechi and his supporters were still with the APC and had no intention of returning to PDP which has seized to function in Rivers state.
"This, to say the least, is a lie from the pit of hell. It is really unfortunate that a man holding a high office as a Federal Minister couldlieso brazenly and without compunction in his desperation to raise the morale of his fast depleting followers in the Rivers PDP.
"The people of Rivers State are wise enough not to allow such a politician and administrator to govern the State even for one second to avoid him destroying all the enviable legacies of Governor Amaechi," the statement read.
The statement described Rivers as an APC state which a million Wikes cannot change, thanking God for he feats of Gov. Amaechi.
