Four corpses without eyes and private parts, reportedly belonging to commercial motorcyclists (okada riders) were found in an uncompleted building near the El-Kabir Housing Estate in Keffi, Nasarawa State. The suspected ritualists who were disguised as labourers were said to have stopped the motorcyclists, asking the riders to take them somewhere along Keffi /Nasarawa Road. Some of the residents of the area, who spoke to Punch said, they saw some people standing along the road holding shovels, cutlasses and measuring tapes and later they heard gunshots which made them scamper from the scene for safety. According to Emmanuel John, an Okada rider in the area, when he heard two gunshots, he fled and managed to escape from the area even when one of the suspects sighted me. He said: “I quickly reported the matter to a police station in Keffi; but I did know what actually happened since then until when I heard that the police found four decomposing bodies of Okada riders.” The bodies were found more than seven days later in the uncompleted building after residents and passers-by, perceived a strange odour and moved closer to where it was emanating from. That’s how they found the four decomposing bodies and raised an alarm. The matter was reported to the police who came to the scene, took the corpses away and deposited them at the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi for post-mortem |
