A 23-year-old groom sparked outrage as he chose to dress in a wedding gown for his marriage ceremony.
The groom, Dmitry Kozhukhov, and his 19-year-old bride, Alisa both from Russia looked like two brides getting married in a same-sex wedding as they both turned up at a Moscow registry office in matching outfits where they did their wedding ceremony.
The husband, Dmitry, who prefers to be called Alina Davis, describes himself as 'Androgyne' (someone who is unable fit neatly into either gender role).
He claims to feel more comfortable as a woman, despite still being attracted to females.
His bride's real identity is not known, though her first name is Alisa she is better known in Moscow by her nickname, Alison Brooks.
The couple married despite official disapproval and outrage from a registry office at the idea of both bride and groom turning up in dresses.
According to Dailymail, the couple were not officially breaking the Russian anti gay and lesbian laws with their union.
In Russia, gay and lesbian weddings are strictly forbidden.
Meanwhile the Dmitry now believes that their wedding has sent an important message to people in Russia, where there is widespread official and public disapproval of the western trend of gay and lesbian unions, and where there can be hostility to non-conventional couples.
The couple who said they are madly in love with each other and plan on having atleast two children.
