Alonso set to join Guardiola's Bayern as Real Madrid accept £5m deal from German giants

Xabi Alonso has agreed to join Bayern Munich from Real Madrid, the German club have announced. The former Liverpool midfielder had been linked with a move to Manchester United after five years at the Bernabeu, but will now link up with compatriot Pep Guardiola. The £5million deal sees the German champions act after injuries to midfielders Thiago, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Javi Martinez.
