Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has sent his condolences to the family of the medical doctor who lost her life to Ebola after attending to late Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer, the first victim of the outbreak. The doctor has died in Lagos. The minister of health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, confirmed the death of the nurse on Wednesday. “My condolences to the family of the medical staff who lost her life attending to the first Ebola patient. I also praise the bravery of medical people responding and treating the Ebola cases. They are sacrificing to keep us all safe,” he said. Abubakar urged the federal and state ministries of health to work together and educate the general public on the prevention of the virus. He called for a concerted effort to stop the spread of the virus. “We must all do our part to stop the spread of the virus. Regular hand washing and improved hygiene are advised, to prevent infection. The federal and state ministries of health must work together to educate the general public.
