Lionel Messi made plenty of people happy when he scored an incredible solo effort in injury time to help Argentina defeat Iran on Saturday.

Per ESPN's Darren Rovell, one confident gambler threw down $231,676 in cash on presumed winner Argentina to defeat the written-off Iranians at the Tuscany Casino in Las Vegas. So confident, indeed, that he threw another $120,000 (to win a mere $10,000) on the Argentines.

According to Rovell, It was the most anyone has put down on a World Cup bet in any of the 100 William Hill sportsbooks in Nevada. Of course, Messi spared the man from a colossal financial loss with his late strike.
