Mikel: Fabregas signing won't force Chelsea exit

John Obi Mikel does not believe Cesc Fabregas's arrival at Chelsea will see him forced out of the club, adding that he is keen to stay at Stamford Bridge. The 27-year-old joined the Blues in a £28.4 million deal earlier in June to become Jose Mourinho's first major signing of the summer ahead of the imminent arrival of Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid. Mikel made just 11 Premier League starts last season with the likes of Ramires, David Luiz or Nemanja Matic preferred in central roles, but the Nigerian is not looking to leave the club despite the increased competition. "I don't have a problem with the signing of Cesc Fabregas. We have played against each other a lot of times. We don't play in the same position anyway," he told reporters. "Chelsea are my home away from home, my second home. You never know what's going to happen in football, but I'm very happy at Chelsea and I want to remain at Chelsea. "I still have three years left on my contract and want to stay there. I want to congratulate Cesc with his transfer and I'm looking forward to playing with him."
