Suarez axed by gambling firm 888poker as backlash from sponsors grows

Luis Suarez has been dropped by gambling firm 888poker as the corporate world seeks to distance itself from the Uruguayan after he was banned by FIFA for nine international matches and from all football for four months.
A brief statement on Friday morning stated: '888poker signed Luis Suarez following a fantastic season for which his achievements were widely recognized. Regrettably, following his actions during Uruguay's World Cup match against Italy on Tuesday, 888poker has decided to terminate its relationship with Luis Suarez with immediate effect.'
The backlash from the poker firm comes after Suarez's major sponsors Adidas revealed on Thursday that they will be reviewing their partnership with the Liverpool striker.
