El Mundo Deportivo claims that the 27-year-old has opted to leave Barcelona, with the Catalan club apparently eyeing Atlético's Koke as a replacement.
Cesc Fàbregas' future could lie at Premier League club Chelsea, according to reports on the website of newspaper Mundo Deportivo. The Barcelona-based daily's print edition carried the news on Monday that Cesc has decided to leave Barça and that his agent has an agreement with one of the English top flight's biggest clubs. The newspaper adds that Manchester City, who have reportedly ruled out the signing of the 27- year-old, are not that team. Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona have set an asking price of 40 million euros for former Arsenal captain Cesc, who moved to the Camp Nou in 2011.
AS' UK correspondent Guillem Balagué said on his Twitter account later on Monday that that the Catalan club's objective is to use the funds generated by selling Fàbregas to launch a bid for Atlético Madrid and Spain midfielder Koke. "Barcelona have told Cesc that he should look for another club; they want the money to buy Koke, who will cost 35 million euros."
