12ft Tiger Shark Caught on Texas Beach

Angler Wayne Wimer reeled in his biggest catch on Monday 12th August which was a 12ft Tiger Shark.
He said “The shark was too strong to haul in by myself so I called over some local anglers nearby to help me, they came over pretty fast and helped me haul the shark in to shore”. At one point whilst reeling in the shark Mr Wimer was exhausted and some people watching brought over a chair so he could sit down while he reeled in the shark.
Tiger sharks can grow up to 16.6ft long, luckily for Mr Wimer this one wasn’t that big and he and some others were able to catch it.
Once the shark was caught Mr Wimer was able to tag the shark. A tag acts as a tracking beacon and so they were able to release the shark and will be able to track its location and whereabouts. This in turn will give Mr Wimer more information about these fascinating animals and give an insight into the world of sharks.
