Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo may leave the world's most canny defenders in their wake, but West Ham youngster Matthias Fanimo blows them both away in the speedster stakes.
The West Ham youth and England under 16,17 and 18 player has recorded a top speed equal to Antonio Valencia, the Manchester United winger regarded as the world's fastest footballer.
Showing he has confidence to handle being among the best, Fanimo tweeted 'No doubt who's the quickest in the world' with a list of top speeds reached by players wearing GPS tracking systems.
The list compares Hammers Youth Academy up-and-comers with the top players on the globe who have worn the same measuring device.
Lambeth-born Fanimo, 20, had a reading of 9.8, the same as Valencia.
Their measurement according to the list is 0.2 of a second quicker than Bale, 0.4 quicker than Tottenham flyer Aaron Lennon and 0.5 of a second ahead of none other than Ronaldo.
