Alhaji Dauda Ajagu, the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) on Thursday advised members of the Boko Haram group to stop perpetuating atrocities if they want to really see the much cherished paradise of God.
The cleric, who made this known while speaking to journalists in Onitsha, Anambra State, urged the Islamist to be of good behaviour and desist from kidnapping and bombing.
While condemning the activities of the sect members, he said: "what they are doing is anti-Islamic and cannot in any way draw any support from Islamic leaders, adding that God's wrath awaits those who shed innocent blood in whatever guise".
Ajagu, who lauded the federal government for its effort in fighting insurgency said: "NSCIA is urging the government not to relent until insurgency is stamped out completely from the surface of the soil of the country".
He expressed optimism that the prayers and fasting being held for the successful rescue of the kidnapped school girls were working, following the assistance from international community in stamping out terrorism from the country.
It would be recalled that two weeks ago, NSCIA, which the highest Muslim organisation in the country declared every Monday and Thursday for prayer and fasting for the kidnapped Chibok girls.
