Legs, hands and one hip bone of a 11-year-old boy were found inside a four-metre crocodile after police tracked it down and killed it.
Melas Mero was attacked and ate alive by the croc when he was fishing with his parents. The four-foot croc used his powerful tail to knock Melas over before snapping him up.
The boy had been fishing with his parents on the banks of the Siloura River in Papua New Guinea on Thursday when the horror began.
According to local police commander Lincoln Gerari, who confirmed the incident, the boy's head was found nearbythe crocodileand taken to a morgue.
The attack is the second to take place in Papua New Guinea this year, after a man was killed by a croc on New Year's Day.
A total of 75 croc attacks - 65 of which were fatal - have been recorded in Papua New Guinea since records began in 1958.
