Eden Hazard has been rewarded for his fine season at Chelsea by scooping the Young Player of the Year award.
The Belgium international, absent for Chelsea's 2-0 victory over Liverpool on Sunday due to injury, has been in blistering form for the Blues this term and came out on top ahead of Liverpool pair Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge, Everton's Ross Barkley, Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey and Southampton left back Luke Shaw.
After winning the award, Hazard said: 'It's always good to win awards because it means you've had a good season, but I prefer to win things collectively and I must say thank you to all my Chelsea team-mates, the staff and the fans.'
Hazard, who joined the club from Lille in a £32million deal in 2012, has scored 17 goals in 48 appearances for the Blues this term.
The 23-year-old frontman scored a stunning hat-trick against Newcastle in February and also scored vital goals against Arsenal, Tottenham and title rivals Liverpool.
Hazard was the favourite for the accolade but young Arsenal man Ramsey is unlucky to have missed out on the award having been one of the Premier League's standout performers before he was struck down by injury back in December.
