Further proof that it's not all girls who run the world, but one Miss Beyonce Knowles herself: Bey covers this year's Time 100 Most Influential People issue, unveiled on Thursday, April 24.
The Grammy-winning singer, 32, stuns on the publication's front in a fully sheer T-shirt over a white two-piece bikini. She looks natural with her hair straightened and parted down the middle and minimal makeup.
Knowles is profiled in the issue by Lean In author and Facebook COOSheryl Sandberg, who celebrated the success of her surprise self-titled album, the wrap of her sold-out tour, and her strong sense of ambition.
"Beyonce doesn't just sit at the table," Sandberg writes. "She builds a better one" Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg writes in a tribute to the 32-year-old superstar. "In December, she took the worldby surprise when she released a new album, complete with videos, and announced it on Facebook and Instagram.
Beyoncé shattered music-industry rules—and sales records."
Additional inside covers feature Robert Redford, Jason Collins, the NBA's first openly gay player, and General Motors CEO Mary Barra.
"[Robert] Redford…created a utopia in the middle of conservative Utah for successful filmmakers to interact with young filmmakers, and thus Sundance—the laboratory and festival—was born," producer Harvey Weinstein wrote of the Hollywood icon. "If you're lucky enough to hang out with Bob Redford, get ready for an opinionated, brilliant, insightful discussion of moviemaking from the point of view of a legendary actor and pioneering director-producer."
Mary Barra, the first female CEO of a major global automaker, earned high praise from former Ford president Lee Iacocca.
"In a perfect world, gender shouldn't matter," he writes. "So it's about time someone of Mary Barra's caliber and experience was appointed to the coveted position of General Motors CEO…If she remains as forthcoming as I've seen her on television with Congress, she will enjoy a long tenure at the helm."
Other leaders on the list include U.S. Secretary of StateJohn Kerry, Japanese Prime MinisterShinzo Abe, Russian President Vladimir Putin, British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristin Anderson-Lopez, who wrote the Disney hit song "Let It Go," and Scandal actor Kerry Washington.
