Just a 4-game ban for trying to strangle an opponent If the sanction handed to Luis Suárez seems harsh , what happened in a game of Australian rules football is at the other end of the scale. The match between North Melbourne Kangaroos and Hawthorn Hawks produced this quite frightening image. The Kangaroos' Brian Lake tried to strangle Drew Petrie of the opposing side, after a collision, something which is quite common in this sport. Several of his teammates saw what was happening and intervened to prevent the incident from getting further out of hand. Amazingly, he has been banned for just four matches.
