Jose Callejon says he is happy to stay at Napoli despite reports of a blow-up with Coach Rafael Benitez.
The forward has told Marca that his future lies in Serie A and he hopes to build on what he felt was a good first year outside Spain after it was reported he was ordered out of training by Benitez for a poor attitude.
"It was a very important year for me. It wasn't easy to come to a different country and city where you know no one, but the Coach called and convinced me," the former Real Madrid youngster said.
"From there I tried to learn Italian and adjust to my new environment as quickly as possible. I'm very happy with how things went.
"I have a contract and I'm happy at Napoli. It was very risky and difficult to leave Real Madrid and come here but again, I'm very comfortable.
"Rafa really understands me. He has trust in me and gave me this chance that I was missing in Madrid. And last season I played every game.
"A player needs continuity, regularity, to be important to the team, and the Coach has given that to me.
"It's clear that I feel important and I've had minutes. Things are going well. When a player feels valued by the Coach, for his love and that of the club, it's clear he'll be very happy."
