A Real Mouthful! Doctors Remove 232 Teeth From 17-Year-Old Boy’s Gums [See Photo]

The teenager had been suffering pain for over a year and he was admitted to a hospital with swollen gums….
An Indian boy has broken a world record after doctors removed 232 teeth from his mouth in a surgery that took 7 hours.
17-year-old Ashik Gavalwas discovered to be suffering from acomplex composite odontoma,a condition which causes multiple teeth to grow from a single gum.
Dr. Sunanda Dhiware, one of those who performed the procedure, said that the growth inAshik's mouth couldn't be cut at first so a basic chisel and hammer had to be used to take it out.
Ashik now has28 teethleft in his mouth, which will be capped, but doctors have expressed fears that the condition might reoccur.
