Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o joins cast of Star Wars Episode VII

Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o is joining the Star Wars cast, telling fans: "I'm going to a galaxy far, far away."
The star of 12 Years a Slave will be joined by Brit Gwendoline Christie, best known for her role as Brienne of Tarth in TV smash hit Game of Thrones.
They will link up with original stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, who will be reprising their roles from the first movie in 1977.
Following the announcement, Lupita, 31, took to her Instagram account to post a picture of the Star Wars logo and excitedly proclaim the
news "loud and proud".
She and Gwendoline will now meet the rest of the cast on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII, which is being filmed in London. Lupita won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role as Patsey in 12 years, directed by Steve McQueen.
She had already been hotly tipped to appear in the latest sci-fi epic, which will be directed by Lost creator JJ Abrams.
Other big names lined up for the film include British actor John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and Lord of the Rings star Andy Serkis.
Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, said yesterday: "I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII.
"It's thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape."
Of the original cast, Hamill returns as Luke Skywalker, Fisher as Princess Leia, Ford as Han Solo, and Brits Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca, Kenny Baker as R2-D2 and Anthony Daniels as C-3PO.
Initial filming began on April 7, with an expected release of December 2015.
Cast details emerged after pictures were leaked to an American website from an on-set location in the Middle East.
