Luis Suarez has always been Mr Indestructible. He was run over by a car when he was 12, breaking a bone in his foot, but the plaster cast he had to wear did not stop him playing football.
Suarez recalls: 'I was hit by a car crossing the road near Parque Central (the stadium of Nacional, the club he supported in Montevideo) and I broke my fifth metatarsal. I didn't even realise at the time.
'The worst thing is that I kept on playing after they put the cast on. The doctor was furious. When it was time to take the plaster off, the heel had been totally worn away. A week after they took it off for good I was back playing for my Nacional boys team.'
