Arsenal fans burn Fàbregas shirts

The news of Cesc Fàbregas' leaving for Mourinho's Chelsea has met with a swift and radical response from a group of Arsenal fans, who decided to burn old Arsenal shirts with his name on the back.
Many Arsenal fans feel that they have been betrayed by the player. Back in 2011 he declared his eternal love for the Gunners when his transfer to Barcelona was confirmed, assuring the Arsenal faithful, "Once somebody is a Gunner, they'll always be a Gunner".

Arsenal's eternal enemy are not Chelsea, but their north London neighbours, Tottenham, whose heated derbies twice a year are a sight to see. That said, there is certainly no love lost between them and Mourinho's Blues.

In his leaving letter to the Barcelona fans, Fàbregas said,

"You all know that Arsenal had the first option of signing me. They decided not to do so, so destiny has not crossed our paths again. I wish them all the best for the future."

Roman Abramovich's Chelsea have paid 33 million plus three in variables for the Barça midfielder, who will still be able to wear the number four shirt for five seasons.
