£475,000 luxury home completely collapses weeks after being bought by new owners

a £475,000 luxury home was reduced to rubble – weeks after being bought by new owners.
The entire side of the large detached home, including the garage, living room and two bedrooms above, caved in.
The stunning house in a leafy Birmingham suburbwas recently on the market priced at offers in the region of £475,000.

It was described on a property website as ''an attractive substantially extended six bedroom detached property of much charm and character located in this highly desirable and much sought after residential location.''
It is understood the property changed hands a few weeks ago and is not currently occupied, the Birmingham Mail reported.
Renovation work had begun, but thankfully the building was empty when it collapsed shortly after 4pm yesterday.
It is understood a family had bought the property from an elderly couple a few weeks ago, with the intention of doing it up.
The family who had bought the house, along with their builders, were called to the scene after the drama.
They refused to give their names, but one said: "I am just relieved that no one was inside at the time.
"We've now got to wait for the building inspector to come. I don't want to say any more until they've been."
The house was cordoned off by police until a building surveyor could give the all-clear last night.
Crowds of astonished locals gathered outside the property, which now faces an extensive rebuilding project.
No-one was injured in the major collapse which is now being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive.
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "Fire crews were called out at 4.08pm and are still at the scene and liaising with the builder who was on site.

"The gas and electricity has been isolated and the Technical Rescue Unit is on site and is in the process of working with partners to help shore the building up.
