What I Went Through - Released Lawmaker Recounts His Ordeal

Honourable Yusuf Nuhu, a member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly representing Lame Constituency who was recently rescued by the police after he wasabducted by unknown gunmen on the 3rd of Marchhas narrated his ordeal.
Nuhu who was rescued on the 13th of Marchstated this while speaking, yesterday, at Bauchi State Police command shortly after a briefing on his rescue by the State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ladan.
The lawmaker, an All Progressives Congress, APC member who stated his kidnap wasn't political said"It was a terrible experience because I have never found myself in such a situation before."
"It was a terrible experience because I was with them for 10 days in a bush. I was given meals that I had never eaten, so I only ate biscuits in order not to have stomach upset. I cannot identify any of them because my face was covered throughout the 10 days I spent with them and I was not able to communicate with my family members. They never discussed anything in my presence.
My kidnapping was not orchestrated by my political opponents; it was the way God wanted it. I learnt a lot; it was a test from God because I never thought I would find myself in such a situation". The lawmaker further stated that no ransom was paid for his release.
Unfortunately a 12-year-old girl lost her life after she was killed by a Police stray bullet during the gun battle between the Police and the gunmen.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ladan who confirmed the lawmaker is in a stable condition revealed how he was rescued saying:
"A joint police and vigilante group, while on rescue operation at Rimin Zayam in Toro Local Government Area had a fierce gun battle with gunmen suspected to be Nuhu's kidnappers. The suspects abandoned their vehicle and escaped into bus with bullet wounds, while the lawmaker escaped and hide somewhere in the bush. He was later rescued and he is in stable condition".
According to the CP the police recovered eight rounds of unexpanded ammunition of SMG riffle, five expended ammunition of 7.62mm, two vehicles and a SIM card.
