Politicians in Brazil have requested the removal of the latest Neymar advert because they say it promotes the bullying of tourists.
Brazil will welcome hundreds of thousands of foreign guests this summer when it hosts the World Cup but the publicity for a famous Brazilian soft drink shows Neymar making fun of tourists.
According to 'Globo' the brand 'Ambev' – one of the World Cup's sponsors – say no offence was intended by the adverts but politicians are worried by the image it projects less than three months before the finals.
The short spot shows Neymar helping three tourists – one Dutch, one French, and one American – to buy the drink from a vender.
But instead of giving them the correct Portuguese phrase the Barcelona player has given them funny phrases that have nothing to do with purchasing soft drinks.
'It's not being creative, it's having a laugh at the expense of foreigners and a Brazilian player respected the world over should not be seen promoting this attitude,' said one of the politicians leading the quest to have the publicity banned.
