Man Arrested For Stealing Human Brains, Selling Them On eBay

Is there anything you can't buy on eBay?

A California man was arrested after allegedly stealing human brain samples from a history museum and selling them on the online auction site.

David Charles, 21, was arrested in December when officers received a call from a buyer who became suspicious about six jars of brain tissue he had bought on eBay.

It is claimed Charles broke into the Indiana Medical History Museum on several occasions and stole the brain samples from dead psychiatric patients.

"A museum's mission is to hold these materials as cultural and scientific objects in the public interest,"the museum's executive director, Mary Nottage said.

"To have that disturbed - to have that broken - is extraordinarily disturbing to those of us in the museum field."

The buyer contacted the museum after he spotted their labels on the container he bought from a middleman on eBay.

Detectives traced the transactions and spoke to the seller who said was given them by Mr Charles.
"It is a peculiar situation," Indianapolis police officer Christopher Wilburn said.

My Pregnant Wife Sends Thugs After Me -Husband Seeks Dissolution Of 14-Year-Old Marriage

45-year-old trader, Benjamin Orjika, has dragged his pregnant wife to an Igando Customary Court in Lagos accusing her of threatening his life.

Benjamin, who wants his 14-year-old marriage dissolved told the court that his wife, Patience, wanted to kill him by sending thugs to beat him.

"My wife always sends thugs to lay ambush and beat me anytime we fight at home.

"I'm afraid they might kill me one of these days,"he alleged.

The petitioner described his wife
as a troublesome woman, who always made his life miserable by fighting and raining curses on him.

"My wife is a troublemaker; she doesn't have respect for me and is fond of slapping me anytime we have a misunderstanding.

"She doesn't regard me as her husband and she loves commanding me as if I am her son or younger brother,"Orjika said.

Orjika, however, begged the court to dissolve their marriage, adding that he was no longer in love with his wife.

However the wife, 40-year-old Patience, also a trader, agreed to the dissolution of the marriage, saying she was also fed up with the marriage.

"In 2007, I came to this court asking for the dissolution of our marriage, but the court called our family members and they settled our differences.

"But since then, our marriage has not worked out well. It's been hell on earth as my husband made our home uncomfortable for me,"she said.

Patience, a mother of two, denied sending thugs to beat her husband, saying she could not do such a thing.

The court president, Mr R.I. Adeyeri, told the petitioner to wait for his wife to put to bed before continuing hearing on the case.

"You don't divorce a pregnant woman because you do not know what will happen to the baby.

"The court will continue with the hearing of the case after the delivery of the baby,"he said.
Adeyeri, however, urged the couple to maintain peace.

He adjourned the case till January 14, 2014.

Enyeama Named Europe’s Best Goalkeeper

Super Eagles Vice captain and Lille of France safe hands, Vincent Enyeama, has been picked as the best goalkeeper in the major leagues across Europe in the 2013/14 football season.

Research by supersport.com showed that the ratio of saves made to goals conceded by the Nigerian is by far and away the most impressive, compared to any goalkeeper at any football club in any of Europe's top leagues this season.

The 31-year-old conceded eight goals in 19 league appearances for Lille OSC this season and was voted best player in Ligue 1 on two consecutive occasions ahead of stellar individuals like Thiago Silva, Edinson Cavani, Mathieu Valbuena, Radamel Falcao and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Enyeama's saves made to goals conceded ratio stands at seven, well ahead those of established goalkeepers like Victor Valdés (FC Barcelona), Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich), Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus) and Morgan de Sanctis (AS Roma).
Valdés' saves made to goals conceded ratio in the 13 league games he played for FC Barcelona this season stands at 4.4 while Neuer's in his 16 Bundesliga games this season was pegged at 3.9. Italy, the land famous for tight defences, catenaccio and legendary goalkeepers produced the fourth and fifth best stoppers using statistics in the first half of the 2013/13 season as the yardstick.

Veteran Juventus man, Buffon's figures as far as the ratio of goals conceded to saves made stood at 2.3 while De Sanctis who has been in supreme form for AS Roma managed 2.2.

Buffon has made 16 league appearances for La Vecchia Signora this season while De Sanctis has made 17 Serie A appearances for the Giallorossi this term.

Enyeama's recent accomplishments have attracted words of adulation from Nigeria's goalkeeper trainer, Ike Shorunmu who believes the former Enyimba star has had a barnstorming season. "I work with (Enyeama) whenever he's back on international duty so this news brings a smile to my face.

He is making us proud and more importantly the fact that these things are happening during the season leading to the World Cup is fantastic," Shorunmu said yesterday. Enyeama made his debut for Nigeria in 2002 and has been capped 88 times by the Super Eagles.

Nigeria Beats Ethiopia Again

Nigeria beats Ethiopia 2-1 in an international friendly played at the Abuja National Stadium on Saturday evening.

The game was the first real test for the Nigerian national team who are set to make a maiden appearance at the African Nations Championship which kicks-off on January 11 in South Africa.

Enyimba striker Ifeanyi Ede gave Nigeria the advantage after scoring in the 3rd minute to put Nigeria in front.

Ede later missed a chance to extend Nigeria's lead, when he failed to connect with a pass from Rabiu Ali in the 27th minute.

The home based Super Eagles continued to dominate their opponents and their persistence paid off when Enugu Rangers holding midfielder Ugonna Uzochukwu struck to double Nigeria's lead.

Nigeria took their two-goal lead into the break, and continued to dominate the game upon resumption of the second half.

But the Eagles could not translate their control of the game into goals, and were made to pay when the Ethiopians pulled a goal back against the run of play, after Chigozie Agbim parried the ball into his own net.

Agbim's own-goal led a section of the over 2000 fans present at the Stadium to call for the introduction of Golden Eaglets goalie Dele Alampasu.

Despite losing their two-goal cushion, Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi made some attacking changes to the team as Gbolahan Salami came on for Abubakar Aliyu, and Christian Pyagbara came on in place of Rabiu Ali.

Neither team was however able to add to their tally when Guinean referee Yakhouba Keita signaled for the end of the game.

Nigeria have now defeated Ethiopia in their last four meetings. The Super Eagles beat Ethiopia in the group stage of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, then went on to beat them over both legs of their World Cup qualifying play-off last year.

Nigeria are expected to depart for South Africa on Tuesday next week.

Father Bartered 7-Yr-Old Girl For Goats, Food Items

A father sold his minor daughter to a 35 years old man in return for some animals and food items, officials said Thursday, Afghanistan.

The sale of Ghancha Gul, 7, in northern Jawzjan province drew denunciation from human rights campaigners, attorneys and law-enforcement officials.

Officials of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) condemned the act as an outrage and blamed provincial authorities for failing to prevent it.

Ewaz Ali Sabiri, an AIHRC official, said Ghuncha Gul was sold to Asadullah -- a drug addict -- by her father in return for 200 kilograms of wheat, 70 kg of rice, two goats, a donkey and some other goods.

Sabiri said Asadullah later secretly arranged tied the knot with the girl. He has been arrested but the Imam who solemnised the marriage is yet to be detained.

Salamat Azami, another AIHRC official, promised to do all he could to resolve the issue if the provincial government failed to deal with it.

Meanwhile, the provincial attorney office said the issue had been addressed to a large extent and they would update the rights watchdog on the progress made.

PHOTOS: You'll Not Believe What Happened To This 19-Year-Old Girl After She Aborted Her Baby

A 19-year-old girl, Shannon Skinner got the shock of her life when she realized she was still pregnant three months after she had an abortion.

Shannon had taken abortion pills when she was eight weeks pregnant but in a rare occurrence, the procedure failed and she continued having morning sickness and feeling movements in her womb. Tests later revealed that the baby had miraculously survived the abortion.

According to Shannon who also has a nine-month-old daughter, Lacie, "We thought she had gone. I had grieved for that baby and we'd just managed to get our heads around it.

"Anthony and I felt like we'd made the right decision because we were having problems and we didn't think it was right to bring a baby into that. I'd always been one of those people that was against abortions and hated them but I was suffering with post-natal depression."

She added, "We've now decided to keep the baby, as we don't feel it's right to have an abortion at this stage. She's obviously a little fighter, and we don't want to cause her any more harm.

Scans have since shown that her baby looks physically fine and she is due to be born on May 7.
