Two tax office experts told a Gavá
(Barcelona) court on Wednesday that Leo Messi did not take part in the management of his image rights, according to legal sources.
The accused in the case are the player and his father, Jorge Horacio Messi, allegedly guilty of tax evasion to the sum of €4 million corresponding to the 2007, 2008 and 2009 financial years. The tax office officials who testified today were the same ones who drew up the report on the player's alleged strategy to avoid paying all of the tax due on his income from image rights.
According to sources close to the case, the two officials ratified their report before the judge trying the case and stated that they do not believe that the player was involved in managing his image rights.
Messi and his father appeared in the Gavà court on 27th September. A few weeks earlier, they had paid €5 million owed to the taxman, and this "reparatory payment" avoided the judge imposing a bond to guarantee any future civil liability. Prosecutors stated in their action that the intent to defraud was on the part of Messi's father, who also acts as the player's agent.

N255m CAR SCANDAL: Jonathan Finally Moves Against Stella Oduah

President Goodluck Jonathan may have finally succumbed to public pressure to move against the embattled Minister of Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah, who is currently being probed over the N255m bulletproof cars bought for her by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
The development came to the fore with the last-minute decision to stop Oduah from signing the much-publicised Bilateral Air Services Agreement with Israel.
The ceremony was given by Presidency officials as the main purpose of her inclusion in the President's entourage to Israel for this year's Christian pilgrimage.
In her stead, Minister of State I, Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri, signed the agreement on behalf of the Federal Government while the Deputy Israeli Foreign Minister, Mr. Zeer Elkin, signed on behalf of the Israeli government. Presidential spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati, after releasing a photograph on Monday on the signing ceremony, issued a statement in which he confirmed that Onwuliri signed on behalf of the government.
Abati did not however explain why Oduah was not allowed to sign the agreement despite the fact that the photograph released by her aides showed that she was present at the event.
The President had come under criticisms for allowing the minister to be on his entourage at a time he set up a three-member panel to investigate the purchase of the cars.
A top Presidency source on the entourage of the President in Israel told our correspondent on the telephone that the decision to stop Oduah from signing the agreement was taken shortly after Jonathan arrived in Israel.
That same reason, he added, informed the decision of the President's aides to keep the minister away from the President since their arrival in the country. The Special Adviser on Media to Oduah, Mr. Joe Obi, had on October 22 said in statement that the minister travelled to Israel to sign the pact. Two days after, the Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Mr. George Ossi, told the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation that Oduah could not appear before it because she "was leading the Nigerian delegation to Israel to sign the BASA."
A former Minister of Aviation, Mr.Femi Fani- Kayode, who shed light on the development, said Jonathan must have prevented her from signing the BASA because of the situation she was in.
He said, "BASA is supposed to be signed by the aviation minister or she could delegate it to the permanent secretary in the ministry.
The agreement has nothing to do with the Foreign Affairs Ministry. I signed quite a few during my tenure."

DRAMA In Abuja As Another Plane Crash Was Averted

Another air disaster was averted at the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja on Monday as a Med-View Airlines aircraft from Lagos suddenly took to the air again at the point of landing in Abuja.
The pilot told the passengers that he took to the air again to avoid a collision with another aircraft on the tarmac. The airline Flight VL2104 took off from the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos at noon and was scheduled to land in Abuja at about 1.05pm. The pilot had already announced final descent into Abuja and asked all passengers and cabin crew to fasten their seat belts but the pilot suddenly took off to the air again with barely 30 seconds to touch ground. The plane had 150 passengers on board.
After about three minutes of gaining altitude, the pilot announced that he decided to take off again to avoid colliding with an aircraft that was on ground.
He said that after he had been granted clearance to land, it was later discovered that the other aircraft was not fast enough, hence his decision to take off.
The aircraft hovered for another 20 minutes in the air before finally landing at about 1.30pm.
While the drama lasted, the passengers were panic-stricken, especially when the plane entered into turbulent weather on air.
One of the passengers, a nursing mother, who was breastfeeding her son at the time the pilot took off again reportedly withdrew the breast from the boy's mouth and started praying profusely while the baby's cry rented the air.
When the plane finally landed, the passengers struggled to disembark.
"Are you still sitting down? Let me rush down in case it will suddenly take off again," a middle-aged man was heard teasing one of his co-passengers.

Messi is currently still in talks with Barcelona to upgrade his contract, a move which would make him the world's highest paid player.
Lionel Messi is being eyed by Chelsea and Bayern Munich for a possible record-breaking $345 million purchase this coming summer, according to UK-based sports website Givemesport.com.
Last week, three Adidas-backed clubs had offered $339 million for Barcelona's star player, but had all been rejected.
The offer by the clubs was less than Messi's buyout clause with Barcelona, which stands at $345 million.
Bayern are allegedly planning to make a new offer this June, backed by Adidas, who have agreed to pay half of the costs of his deal to sweeten his possible move from

On why the juju failed him, Odina said his boys went contrary to what the oracle said.
"That day when we consulted oracle, the oracle said we should not go for the operation but my boys who first agreed with me later went for the operation without my knowledge and they were arrested that day during the operation" , he stated. He said he attempted to disappear into the air when he saw the police but the juju failed him stressing " I don't know what happened"
Ondo State police spokesman, Wole Ogodo who confirmed the story said the command is battle ready to flush out all criminals in the state. He added that the command's latest strategies were designed to reduce crime rate in the state to the barest level.

"Why I Beat My 14-Year-Old Daughter To Death" - Nigerian Soldier Tells His Side Of The Story

Unless by divine intervention, John Udin, a retired soldier may likely spend the rest of his life in jail if he doesn't go to the gallows for clubbing his 14- year old daughter, Glory to death.
John 72, from Jesse, Warri in Delta State was discharged from the Nigeria Army in 1999 as a corporal. He has 11 children from three wives. Two of the wives and seven children are in Jesse, while he resides at 28 Adewale Street, Iba New Site, Ojo, Lagos with the youngest wife, Comfort and four children in a two-room apartment.
Last Tuesday, what started as minor family quarrel turned fatal. On that fateful evening, while Comfort, Glory and the three other children were preparing for evening church service, it was alleged that John came to the front of their compound and sat down. As his family members wanted to leave for church, it was further alleged that he blocked the entrance and said they won't go because they lack the character of good Christians.
According to John, his daughter Glory, a secondary school student didn't have an iota of respect for him. "Whenever I tried to counsel or advise her as a beloved father, she would make ignoble and despicable signs to show an extreme disdain and contempt she has for me. These are the things she copied from her mother.
"Some times she would go to another family's house to sleep or she did something not of good report, when I tried to caution her, she would talk to me or demonstrate with a sign that shows an utter contempt."
As John prevented them from going to church, he accused Glory of making the same derogatory sign to show her
contempt for him. This was said to have provoked the ex-soldier who dragged Glory to their bedroom where he allegedly beat her with a nail-studded plank.
According to Comfort, her husband didn't allow their daughter any medical assistance.
"I went and called a nurse who came and started treating her. When she was not improving, my husband took her to a hospital where she died" Comfort said.
Glory died last Sunday five days after the incident.
In an interview John in a sober mood, wondered why he should kill his own daughter and heaped the blame on Satan.
"I am not crazy to give birth to a child and at the same time kill the child. I don't have mother or father, my children are everything to me. So why should I kill her? My intention was to hit the plank on her back for her just to receive the pain and nothing more but it landed on her forehead.
"When my wife went and reported the matter at the police station, I didn't wait for the police to come and arrest me. I went to the police and submitted myself to them. That will show that I didn't have the intention of killing my dear daughter. If I meant to kill her as my wife is accusing me of, I would probably run away or went into hiding."
On what that type of dangerous weapon was doing in his bedroom, John said that he is a security man and that was one of his tools to defend himself and attack robbers.
He accused his wife of encouraging Glory the way she was misbehaving.
His wife, who by her name, should be providing comfort for him is now calling for the full weight of the law to be visited on him.
"He deliberately killed my daughter and so he should also be killed the same way", she declared. On how he met Comfort, John said that Comfort's father though late was his friend and also a retired soldier.
According to him, after his disengagement from the military, he took his two wives and seven children to his village, Jesse. After staying at home for a while, he said life at the village didn't suit him and so opted to come back to Lagos, but his wives and children said they were not going with him and preferred to stay in the village.
" It was when I came to Lagos and started visiting Comfort's father, my friend by then he was still around and I started going closer to Comfort and one thing led to another and she became pregnant.

Pandemonium at MMIAAirport as two planescollide

There was a minor accident on Friday at the Murtala Muhammed
International Airport, Lagos, involving a Turkish Airline aircraft and a Max Air plane. The Turkish Airline plane wings collided with that of Max Air plane which had brought in Pilgrims from Saudi Arabia. Newsmen gathered that the Turkish Airplane had landed safely but was taxiing to stop at the airport's apron when its wing collided with that of Max Air.
The collision resulted in minor damages to both airplanes and sources said they had been taken away for repairs. Pandemonium.
Also, said the Spokesman, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Fan Ndubuoke, confirmed the incident. He however said damages to the aircraft belonging to both airlines were minor and that both planes had been taken away for repairs.
A similar incident occurred last year in Jos, Plateau State, when an Arik plane wings brushed an Airforce jet parked at the apron when the plane was taxiing to stop. There was also no casualty in the incident but only damages to both planes.

'It's My First Time, I'm Sorry' - Rapist Tells Victim After He Could Not Get An Erection To Rape Her

A sex attacker who failed in the
knife point rape of a woman because of his drunken impotence apologized to her and said 'it's my first time'.
Sudan-born Khalid Abdullah cornered a stranger in an alley and held a blade to her neck in a jealousy fuelled assault, sparked by seeing his own girlfriend with another man.
The victim had been walking to work at 5:30am when Abdullah launched the terrifying attack in April this year.
He told the woman, in her 30s, that he 'needed sex' before putting his hand over her mouth and telling her to keep quiet.
But Abdullah, 35, was unable to carry out the rape and told her: 'It's my first time, I'm sorry.'
He offered the terrified woman his phone and said: 'Call the police, you can call the police, call the police now.'
The woman fled but Abdullah caught her and told her he 'wanted to kill all women' after catching his girlfriend being unfaithful.
She managed to reach her home in
Peterborough, and raised the alarm. Abdullah was later identified through CCTV.
He was convicted of attempted rape after a week-long trial at Peterborough Crown Court.
Judge Nic Madge jailed him for eight years and described the attack as 'every woman's worst nightmare'.
He told him: 'Whether due to the amount you had drunk or for some other reason, you were not successful in having sexual intercourse, clearly that was your intention.
'You did not succeed in penetrating her and she did not suffer any physical injuries, but this was an absolutely terrifying experience.
'It was every woman's worst nightmare. The victim was terrified because of your anger and unpredictability.'
Detective Constable Louise Spinks said:
'Abdullah is clearly a dangerous individual and we are pleased he is now behind bars for a significant period of time.'

Ryan Murphy had a set idea of how he wanted the final season of Glee to go — and without Cory Monteith, the creator has decided it can’t happen.

‘Glee’ Ending After 6 Seasons

“The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel (Lea Michele) and Cory/Finn’s story,” Ryan said at the event at Los Angeles’ Paley Center, which honored FX Networks. “I always knew that, I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was – he was in it. I knew what the last line was – she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we’re figuring that out now.”
As for the final season, Ryan does know what he wants to do — and it will honor FInn.
“I have a good idea,” he added. “I’m going to tell the studio and the network [in a week] how after Cory’s unfortunate passing we can end the show that I think is very satisfactory. And kind of in his honor, which I love.”

How Rachel Will Cope With Finn’s Death Through The Series

As for Rachel, we’re not sure what direction her storyline will go now that she has lost her true love. In the tribute episode, Rachel revealed that she had a fairytale ending in mind for her and Finn — one that echoed their real-life romance.
However, while the cast said their official goodbye in the episode, we do know Rachel will continue to mourn over his loss throughout the rest of the series.

Security guards who stopped two 17-year-old girls suspected of shoplifting at a Victoria's Secret on Thursday found a human fetus inside a bag one of them was carrying, New York City police said.

Both teens were placed in police custody after the discovery on Thursday afternoon at the midtown Manhattan lingerie store in Herald Square, New York City Police Detective Michael DeBonis said.

One of the girls was taken to Bellevue Hospital, police said. DeBonis declined to comment on local media reports that the girl taken to the hospital may have recently given birth.

"It was a human fetus," said Sergeant John Buthorn. "The medical examiner will now determine the cause of death."

Both girls were charged with criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny, Buthorn said.
"While inspecting the bags of the two females, security officers discovered a strong odor and found a fetus inside the bag of suspect No. 1," police said in a statement.

'Bionic man' makes debut at Washington's Air and Space Museum

A first-ever walking, talking "bionic man" built entirely out of synthetic body parts made his Washington debut on Thursday.

The robot with a human face unveiled at the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum was built by London's Shadow Robot Co to showcase medical breakthroughs in bionic body parts and artificial organs.

"This is not a gimmick. This is a real science development," museum director John Dailey said.

The 6-foot-tall (1.83 meter), 170-pound (77-kg) robot is the subject of a one-hour Smithsonian Channel documentary, "The Incredible Bionic Man," airing on Sunday.

A "bionic man" was the material of science fiction in the 1970s when the television show "The Six Million Dollar Man" showed the adventures of a character named Steve Austin, a former astronaut whose body was rebuilt using synthetic parts after he nearly died.

The robot on display at the museum cost $1 million and was made from 28 artificial body parts on loan from biomedical innovators. They include a pancreas, lungs, spleen and circulatory system, with most of the parts early prototypes.

 

"The whole idea of the project is to get together all of the spare parts that already exist for the human body today - one piece. If you did that, what would it look like?" said Bertolt Meyer, a social psychologist from the University of Zurich in Switzerland and host of the documentary.

The robot was modeled after Meyer, who was born without a hand and relies on an artificial limb. He showed off the bionic man by having it take a few clumsy steps and by running artificial blood through its see-through circulatory system.
"It, kind of, looks lifelike. Kind of creepy," said Paul Arcand, a tourist who was visiting from Boston with his wife.
The robot has a motionless face and virtually no skin. It was controlled remotely from a computer, and Bluetooth wireless connections were used to operate its limbs.

The bionic creation's artificial intelligence is limited to a chatbot computer program, similar to the Siri application on the Apple iPhone, said Robert Warburton, a design engineer for Shadow Robot.

"The people who made it decided to program it with the personality of a 13-year-old boy from the Ukraine," he said. "So, he's not really the most polite of people to have a conversation with."
Assembly began in August 2012 and took three months to finish.

The robot made its U.S. debut last week at New York's Comic Con convention. It will be on display at the museum throughout the fall.

A primary six pupil of Role Model School, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos, has emerged one of the youngest pupils to obtain the Microsoft Certified Professional certificate.
A nine-year-old pupil of Role Model School, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos, Jomiloju Tunde-Oladipo, has emerged the youngest Nigerian Microsoft certified professional.
He came tops among 21 pupils who sat for the professional examination in Lagos. He is now a Microsoft office specialist in office word 2010.
Jomiloju scored 769 out of 1,000 in the examination held in August.
In his examination score report, the slim-built boy performed well in Sharing and Maintaining Documents, Formatting Content, Applying Page Layout, and Reusable Content, among other subjects.
By the feat, Jomiloju has joined the league of young Microsoft certified professionals, including Nigeria's 10-year-old Anjolaoluwa Seyi-Ojo; an eight-year-old Indian, Lavishnashree, and two Pakistanis, named Arfa and Thobani.
Microsoft Certified Professional is a certification programme provided by Microsoft Corporation. The certification is tailored towards building skills on Microsoft business solutions, focusing on client-end operating systems such as windows XP, Vista, Windows7 among others.
Jomiloju, whose certificate was signed by the Chief Executive Officer, Microsoft Corporation, Steven Ballmer, says he did not achieve this feat easily, but through persistence and hard work.
He says,"It was not all that easy, because I had attempted the examination last year, I did not make it then. But I remained focused and I put in a lot of hard work.
"At home and in the school, I am always on the computer. After school hours, if am not doing anything, I will go to my Information Communication Technology teacher, to learn more."
Jomiloju sat for the examination when he was in primary Five.
Relating his experience,Jomiloju says, "In all, I answered 20 questions, after answering a question, the computer takes you to another one. And at times, there will be an instruction to skip the next question. But the programme still directs one to come back to those questions one had earlier skipped."
But was he really scared having failed once to meet the cut off mark?He stresses that he was really afraid due to his earlier experience but he was optimistic of having success, because according to him, he has prepared well.
He also gives kudos to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tunde-Ladipo, for their support and imbuing in him the 'can do' spirit in achieving the success.
He says,"My mum and dad were very supportive.They always tell me never to give up and eventually it paid off.Moreover, they had bought the latest Dell laptop. Again, I am always fascinated about computer. The way it works and the process, and the way it organises data."
Jomiloju who is a left-handed writer, according to his parents, has been a gifted child. He has always been in love with gadgets.His mum, Toyin, says, "Jomiloju since he was baby had loved playing with gadgets, he was never interested in toys. He would pick up remote controls for both TV and air-conditioner, and he would correctly use them for their specific functions."
His father adds,"It is not that we are unnecessarily indulging him but he is such a brilliant child. He's multi-talented. He plays the saxophone, he's good on keyboard, he acts very well and he's a good swimmer.
"Each term, he participates in school drama and quiz. He also gets prizes in other subjects, apart from ICT."
Does Jomiloju want to pursue a career in software/hardware project like Bill Gates and Steve Job? Spotting an innocent smile, the youngster nods his head in affirmative.
His school administrator, Mrs. Adesimbo Banjo, who speaks glowingly about Jomiloju, says the feat recorded by her pupil is a tonic for other pupils.
His ICT teacher, Mr. Mathew Alo, also commends Jomiloju for the feat.
He adds,"Jomiloju was taught all the necessary things he needed to know and he came out as the most outstanding among 20 others from different schools in Lagos.
His class teacher, Mrs. Elizabeth Ogunrinola, says Jomiloju takes his studies seriously. She states,"He is not only good in ICT, but in other subjects. He is hard working and well behaved."
For Jomiloju, he's not resting on his oars yet, as he says he is still going to seek more Microsoft certifications.
"I still want to sit for more examinations. I will still do excel and power points,"he says.

Olawale Ayodele Ojo, winner of the MTN Project Fame (Season 6), in a recent interview about his experience in the competition and other issues

Shortly after you were announced winner of the MTN project Fame, you said your mind was still blank to express how you felt. It is about 48 hours now, so how are you feeling?

I feel blessed. I feel that everything around just worked for me this season because I didn't really expect to come out as the winner this season. It's about God because I don't believe there is something I did that others didn't do. It was the grace of God and the people that voted for me. I'm really grateful to all the people that believed in me and voted. I wouldn't have won without them. Basically, I feel this is God's grace because at a point in the competition, I was almost evicted, so when you look at everything from beginning to the end, you will realise that it is God's grace.

If you didn't envisage winning the competition, what was your plan when you registered to participate at the auditions?

I came up to register when ASUU was on strike, and this was my first time to participate in a music competition. I didn't really come with too much determination, but anywhere I find myself, I always try to give my best in all I do. So, when I got into the academy, I didn't have a choice than to give my best for everything.

So ASUU strike actually pushed you to Project Fame?

Yes, but I believe that is how God wants it to be. The strike is a blessing in disguise for me.

Who is Olawale?

I am a normal guy and like I said, I am into sales and repairs of phones and laptops, and I do that in school just to make some money. But I love music so much. I play the piano, drums and I sing in my church choir. I was the music director of my church choir for two years before I left for school. Basically, that's just me. My life has just been music and business. I just try to add value to myself.

Tell us more about your experience as a phone and laptop repairer?

I started as a lover of gadgets because I know much about gadgets. Like some people will call me pimp. I use to pimp their phones. It was expensive then to put some media applications like Bible on phones. It was a luxury then, and that was what I was actually doing. I later graduated into selling phones. I started knowing the problems that are peculiar with some phones and how to fix them. I didn't really go for any special training though. I am not saying that I am very good at repairs, I do it basically based on the experience I have with phones.

How lucrative was the business, and did you sponsor yourself to school with it?

I didn't sponsor myself to school, my parents did that. But there are some extra money needed in school that you can't ask your parents; that was the type of money I was making. At times, I feel like taking some responsibilities myself, so I need to get extra cash.

As a millionaire now, how do you intend to cope with your colleagues in school when the ASUU strike is over? Will there be any pressure on you?

I think the only change is that I meet a lot of people and people know me now. I wasn't this popular, but now I am popular. I think that is just the difference. I am still Olawale. The only thing different is just that I am now popular and I have to be more conscious of my career now because I have to work more on my songs. I have to make sure I don't disappoint my fans out there. The work has changed.
Project Fame had produced five previous winners before you. What are your plans to rank among the most successful ones?
Basically, I am sure that those that have won it before didn't achieve that because of what they did, but that is God's plan for them, and I believe that God's time is the best; if you come out at the wrong time, then you might just crash. I am putting everything to God and I will just play my part, work hard and make sure I write good songs. But everything depends on God. He knows when He needs me to come out, when people needs to know me. My music will not be a do-or-die affair. I didn't bring myself to the Project Fame academy, God did, and He is able to sustain me.

You sound very religious…

I won't say that I'm too religious, but at the same time, I believe so much in God. Looking at my journey from the beginning of the competition to the end, it has been God. I was almost evicted at a point.

You started from the church as a choir coordinator, and now you are a winner of the project fame. Are you going to play gospel or secular music?

I'm not doing gospel music, and my personal composition at the Project Fame finals wasn't gospel music. I believe that God created love and dance, which is not bad for us. I don't believe that everything should be gospel; music should be either positive or negative. Even if a secular song has a message of love, it is good, but there are some music that don't deliver love, and I wouldn't go into such music.

Before the Project Fame competition, how well did you study the Nigerian music industry?

I am very observant and listen a lot. I don't really listen to Nigerian music, but at a point, I realised that my culture is important, so I started listening to it. I actually wanted to know what they do that make people scream and shout their names, understand their kind of music and know the type that sells. For a song to sell, it has to have African trade mark on it, either you put Yoruba language or you put pidgin English. WizKid, 2Face, P-Square and others put something of these languages into their music; that is one major thing I have discovered. With that, their music flows in a way that even a roadside mechanic can get your message and enjoy it. That is music that both the rich and poor can listen to.

Are there any Nigerian artistes that you draw inspiration from?

I don't draw it from one person. I draw experience from different sources, so I will say they all have their own peculiarity. I am a very flexible person, and have decided to throw myself open so I can learn a lot. They are all great, so I will try picking one or two things from each of them and add them to my own and pray better things will come out of it by God's grace.

Despite having a good music background before coming to the Project Fame, what have you learnt in the academy?

I have learnt to have confidence in myself. I sing in church but have not been in this kind of platform before. Project Fame is my very first experience, the first time I will appear on TV. At a point, I became nervous. The first time I came on stage, it was written all over me that this guy is scared, but the Faculty members worked on me. I really appreciate them. They helped me manage those weaknesses and now, I'm more confident on stage and believe in myself, despite the fact that I have a small stature.

What was the most challenging thing you encountered in the academy?

Like I said, I do business, so am used to it. I don't have problem with my co-contestants, don't quarrel, and I don't get angry easily, so everything was just fun for me.

While the competition lasted, was there any other contestant you had feelings for?

None.

You were never close to any of them?

One thing is that throughout the competition, I made sure I wasn't too close to one person. Samuel was my birthday mate; Roland's bed was beside my bed. As for Immaculate, I learnt from her. But I didn't really have a favourite.

Since you emerged winner, have you spoken to your girlfriend on phone?

I don't have a girl friend.

Why?

Nothing, I'm still young.

How old are you?

I'm just 25.

That is not too young to have a girlfriend

I see myself as a young boy. Look at me, do I look like someone that can maintain a girlfriend?

But you're now a millionaire. Your level has changed?

It's not about the level, I'm still Olawale and I don't look like someone that can maintain a girlfriend.

Where do you see Olawale in the next few years?

Majorly, I see myself as a very different person, coming into the music industry with my own originality, and I don't want to lose it for any reason.

Who is likely to be the first artiste you will work with?

I don't know. I can't really predict. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Sebastian Vettel made it five wins out of five in Japan but the quartet of world titles will have to wait until India in two weeks' time.

University Crisis: SSANU Ends Strike

The one week-long strike is over, the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) have announced on Friday in Abuja.
A statement, signed by the union's National Secretary Promise Adewusi, says the susension follows "substantial compliance" by the Federal Government to meet the Union's demands.
As August and September salaries have been paid to the Union's members, they were urged to resume their duties starting from Monday, the 14th of October, 2013.
The Union members were thanked for their solidarity.
The statement also said the non-payment of the salaries would not happen again.
Meanwhile, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been on strike since July 1 along with the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), and have no intentions to go back to work unless the Federal Government implements a 2009 agreement it had with the said Union.
The authorities have already ordered the stoppage the salaries of the striking lecturers.
On Friday in Abuja, ASUU delegation led by its President Dr. Nasir Isa Fagge met with a Federal Government team led by Vice President Namadi Sambo to resolve the areas of disagreement.
No communique was issued at the end of the meeting.
